I was introduced to Claire and Charles through the fantastically talented Laura Babb, as she was photographing their October wedding last year, so lots of thanks go out to Laura for introducing me to this lovely couple. Her gorgeous photographs (some of which are featured in this blog), captured this wonderful couple’s wedding beautifully, but the story behind the couple is even more amazing and beautiful. I urge you to read more about this extremely moving story on Laura’s blog. In the meantime, I’d like to tell you a little more about their fantastic dancing.
Claire and Charles had two lessons with me in their lovely West London home, which had the added loveliness of their extremely cute dog Hilda, who, by the way, was also in the actual wedding. How wonderful is that?! I’m sure Hilda was quite perturbed by what was happening in the living room, but very impressed with the couple’s fabulous dancing.

(See, I told you she was cute.)
Claire and Charles had not had dance lessons before and were feeling a little nervous. I may even have heard a few of the “we won’t be very good” lines, but none of this was true I assure you. Claire and Charles took to dancing like ducks to water.

Their lovely first dance song was the gorgeously romantic L-O-V-E by Nat King Cole, and I must say, it was a perfect fit with their fabulous LOVE decoration in the background at their fabulous fairy light filled London venue St. Columbias. I have to say, one of my favourite decorations that I’ve seen in any wedding dance photos.

Claire and Charles swayed, spun, showed off some very nifty armography and ended with a flourish as Claire sat on Charles’ knee wowing their impressed wedding guests.

They looked absolutely gorgeous as they danced too. Claire, in her beautiful lace, floor length gown that complemented her dance moves perfectly, looked stunning with her pretty gold hair band setting off the look perfectly. Whilst Charles looked very handsome and every bit the gentleman in his suit, which was offset with a pink tie and pretty pink button hole.

Claire and Charles were such a pleasure to work with. I feel honoured to have taught them their dance and even more pleased that learning this dance has made them feel like they might take some dance lessons together in the future. I hope that you have a lifetime of happiness and memories together.
Love Victoria x
