charles and chloe’s lovely first dance…

P1080203-7

One of my favourite things about this job is when I get to teach a couple who have never danced before, but take on the exciting challenge to learn something new together for their special day.

In July, Charles’ mum Hayley e-mailed me to say that her son and future daughter in law were worried about their first dance.  They didn’t want to spend the entire song swaying, and were worried about feeling self-conscious, as neither of them had danced before.

Now, a mere six weeks and four dance lessons later, Chloe and Charles are married and danced to a personalised choreographed routine on their wedding day.

They kicked off their evening reception with the cutting of their cake followed by the first dance in the garden of The White Hart in the lovely Bedfordshire village of Flitton, in, I have to say, one of the most beautiful wedding marquees that I’ve seen.

Charles and Chloe’s friends and families packed themselves in around the fabulous chequered dance floor to see them dance to Elbow’s gorgeous ‘One Day Like This.’

As sometimes happens at weddings, there were a few nerves, but Charles and Chloe kept dancing and did a great job!

The routine included some Foxtrot style steps, spinning, swaying and lots of cheering from their supportive friends and family.

I am one proud dance teacher.  Well done and congratulations guys!
